White Cat Publications is proud to welcome author Stephen Palmer to White Cat. We will be publishing two of his science fiction novels. They are Cybergone and Uncanny. Stephen Palmer is well known in science fiction circles in the United Kingdom, and it is our goal to make him equally well known in North America. Cybergone is a fascinating look at how the Internet affects young minds. It is the 1984 of our times. It also deals with China in a particularly brilliant way.
“Cybergone opens with the three main characters of the first strand, all Anglo-Chinese musicians, meeting one another prior to a tour of China. The second strand follows a Chinese man whose son has succumbed to what the CCP calls Cold Person Illness, which is known elsewhere as Empathy Negation Disorder, a mysterious illness sourced in the digital world. The CCP deny this origin.
The novel progresses by telling the increasingly chaotic and politically dangerous story of the tour and how it relates to an ideological struggle within the CCP. The second strand shows the terrible effects of END and how it might be cured.”
Stephen’s novel Uncanny approaches the topic of racism in future times in a particularly stimulating fashion. We can’t wait to publish it.
Both novels will be available in the fall, so look for them then.
